Gil Gann

Nashville based Blues, Country, Soul, and R&B Artist, Gil Gann knows how to get and keep crowds HAPPY. He’s been packing them in every week at Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar in Printers Alley, Nashville, TN, for more than 10 years. Gil keeps them in the club with his musicianship, enthusiasm, and extensive repertoire of Covers and Original songs featuring Blues, R&B, Country, Rock, and more.
Gil’s upbringing in East Texas and South Central Los Angeles exposed him to a wide variety of clubs and music. In his late teens, he began honing his style and chops in clubs such as Club 88, Gazarris, The Palomino, and Doug Westin’s Troubadour.
Gil relocated to Nashville, TN in the late 90’s for a recording opportunity. He quickly began working in clubs all around Nashville, including The Boardwalk Café where he met many musicians he still works with today. He also met his long-time mentor, James “Nick” Nixon of The Imperials, a foundation of the Nashville sound.

Gil was also a regular performer at the Bell Cove Club, which was a hot spot for accomplished country songwriters in Hendersonville, TN. There, he further honed his songwriting and performance skills with Grammy Award-winning songwriter, David Chamberlain (‘Am I Blue’ and ‘What’s Going On In Your World’ by George Strait).

In 2003, Gil was one of the first Artists to work long-term at BB Kings, Nashville. If that’s not enough he was schooled by James Jameson, original bass player in the Motown Snake Pit and HB Barnum, who produced Aretha Franklin and O.C. Smith. Gil was also deeply influenced by Deford Bailey, Jr, son of Deford Bailey of the original Grand Ole Opry. He taught Gil how to “go with the flow”. Gil has held multi-year engagements at prime venues throughout Tennessee, the Southeast, and New Orleans.

He is now expanding his scope to the West Coast again, where he performs regularly at the Speakeasy Tavern in Redondo Beach, California.

WHEN GIL HITS THE STAGE, A TRAIN OF UNBRIDLED PASSION IS HEAD
