Doug "Songuy" Robertson
Doug Robertson, also known as "Songuy," is a talented songwriter, musician, and performer who has been striving to become a rock star since the age of nine.
He has developed a mixture of Blues, Rock and Americana he calls “New Vintage Acoustic Rock”.
Doug's engaging and audience-centered performance style include humorous stories and guitar-driven rhythms. His latest releases still carry a nostalgic 60’s-70’s feel.
He has opened for famous performers and enjoyed 14 years as co-coordinator of Nashville Songwriters Association International's Reno, Nevada workshop.
2015 returned his focus to songwriting resulting in a 6-song EP released in 2020 entitled “Epiphany." Songs include "Portola," a '70s light rock tune about a lonesome railroad worker, and "Why Are Armadillos In Nashville," a Texas Swing explanation for the critters presence in Tennessee.
2022 saw the release of Rockabilly tune, “No Competition” and 2023 is slated for more rockers & blues.
Doug's original and cover tunes often chronicle his life as a musical wannabe.
